Do women want porn for women?

There has been a lot of talk over the past few years about women and porn. Pretty much all commercial porn produced over the past 35+ years has been made by (and for) men but is porn even gender specific?

There have been attempts over the years for more female oriented products – notably Candida Royalle’s Femme productions which she describes as “Something men can share with the women in their lives”(1) and “less graphic, good story lines, good original music and real characters of all ages”(2). Femme’s movie boxes are even made to look like romance novels, which is very clever.

Vivid are another company also known for producing “couple friendly” porn which much like Femme is noted as different by being less explicit.

But who says this is what women want?

It seems to me that by attempting to “liberate” women by giving them their own brand of porn, these people are missing something quite important – that everyone has different tastes regardless of their gender.

JasmineSinclair.com

Jasmine Sinclair has been a well known model in the UK for a while now including appearences on Page 3 of national newspapers.

She has had a website for quite a while which specialises in bondage and while this isn’t my thing I joined up recently to check it out.
I would describe the site as small and personal which is a nice change from faceless corporation websites.
Jasmine’s bio page is an interesting read (for a change) and mentions how she is naturally submissive and how her website is a way to explore this side of her personality in a safe environment.

Hello world!

Well I’m around 90% done building the site and adding content.
I found so much material to use that I realised most would have to be left out.

I decided to render a lot of the Vivid dvd boxes and Private material as its more interesting to see the product rather than a flat piece of artwork. The Daring! renders were produced at the time of the design though to aid in visualising the whole product package including the disk.

I’m stuill having issues with lightbox scripts not working properly but I’m guessing this is a conflict with other javascripts on the site, other than that – the site is progressing nicely.
